    Default Pain in the left handside of my left leg

    I have pain which runs from the left of my left knee down the left hand side of my leg and then travels across the front of my foot. Only hurts when running ibuprofen helps

    Hi,

    Could be a couple of things but these kind of injuries are generally overuse injuries, caused by poor biomechanics (incorrect positioning) of the foot/ankle when running.

    Have you had a gait analysis? This will show you how you run and will allow you to get a pair of trainers which will help correct any problems.

    Its likely to be one or more of the peroneal muscles which are playing up although there may be associated tightness in the calf muscles. Some good deep massage to these muscle groups should also help.

    You should also rest and stretch often for a period of a few weeks whilst receiving treatment and then gradually build the running back up.
