Default Pain on the Top of my Right Foot...

Over the past couple of months I have been experiencing some pain on the top of my right foot. It seems to only bother me when I stand up after being crouched down working. I am in the HVAC business so my job requires alot of crawling, squating, etc... It seems like when I stand my foot "pops" and then there is a sharp pain. This is the only situation that seems to make it hurt. I have recently gotten back into running and haven't noticed it while running one bit. I just wanted some opinions as to what it might be, I kinda feel like its a stress fracture but there hasn't been any swelling or redness, just pain.
    Thanks!

    Hi
I think a stress fracture is unlikely as running would stir this up usually.
I would guess either a small ligament or tendon problem. There are so many of these within the foot that its impossible to give you any more guidance as to which exaactly.
However, I would say to give running a rest for a couple of weeks (even though I understand it doesn't hurt whilst running), try icing the area regularly for a few days and really stretch the calf muscles several times a day. See if this makes a difference.
If not, I would advise you to visit a specialist.
