Default Possible tendon problem in foot.

My very active granddaughter age 11 has a problem with loud cracking noises coming from her ankle joint and finds it painful to raise her foot. I heard her ankle crack and i was sitting at least 10 feet away from her at the time. She is a fast runner, plays football, and also does ballet, tap and modern dancing. Her dance teacher suspects that she has tendon problems, and she is on a waiting list to be referred to a physiotherapist, but as she isn't a breadwinner, or pregnant and only a child she is at the bottom of the list. Are there any exercises she can do in the meantime to help this problem. She has had to stop all her exercising until she gets her physiotherapy treatment.

    Hi
    A tendon problem is possible.
The best thing she can do is to stretch all of the muscles of the lower leg regularly (several times a day) to ensure good movement at the ankle. A lack of movement is so often linked to ankle and foot problems.

Default Possible Tendon injury to ankle

Thank you Heidi, I will tell her and her Mum, she will probably keep reminding her to do the stretches. we have been afraid to do anything in case it worsens the situation. I will also tell her dance teacher as she can then give her suitable stretches to do.Thank you for replying.
