Toe Popping
Whenever I do any sports such as running or netball, I get the second to last toe on my right foot feeling as though it is slightly dislocating or "popping" and I get the short term pain with that too. It happens as the motion brings me on to the ball of my foot. I have been to the doctors and was only able to see the nurse practitioner who felt around my toe and manipulated it (but it only seems to hurt when it is weight bearing) and she prescribed a course of anti-inflammatories. After the course finished there was no change. I would be grateful if anyone had any advice on what this may be and if there is anyway I could strap it to prevent the discomfort. Will be off to the docs again soon if it continues, but appointments there are like gold dust! Thanks

Anybody have any thoughts or history with this? I have been fighting the same thing for almost a year. I've had neuroma surgery trying to address it. Have had mutliple opinions but no firm diagnosis.
My problem is with the third toe. Just as Jules said, when I put weight on the ball of my foot it feels as though it pops and after a while becomes painful. At rest, up in the air, the toe can be moved every which way with no pain.
One doctor thought predislocation, but another thought that was not it because it's the third and not the second toe and because I have it, to a lesser degree, in the other foot as well.
