    Unhappy Top of Foot Pain

Hi, I've ran a marathon 1 week ago, and a few days later I was easily spinning on my bike (barefoot) to try to relax my tight calf muscles. After spinning, I noticed the top of my right foot hurt, just above all the metatarsi, mostly when flexing my foot. I had very limited activity for the rest of the week, then tried to run yesterday. I had to cut the run short, as it began to become a constant pain instead of one that came and went. It did seem to hurt more when on a dirt surface than a hard surface. It's still sore to the touch today and I can feel it when I flex my foot. Very little, if any pain when walking. Suggestions on injury or treatment besides don't aggravate it further?

Possibly tendonitis of the flexor tendons on top of the foot.
All the usual apply, rest, ice etc. You should find any pain on movement has gone within a week or so.
Sports massage may help loosen the shin and calf muscles, lots of stretchin too. Then a gentle intro to dorsiflexion movements, (raising the foot upwards), starting with no weight and then adding a foot or ankle weight.

Hello, i'm a 16 year old girl and i play badminton in competition. I was playing badminton when i heard a crack in the middle of my foot. This was pretty painful but i managed to keep on playing even if some movements were painful. My foot doesn't hurt when it's not moving and relaxed, but as soon as i try putting my foot at a 90 degree angle i start getting pain in the middle left of my right foot. I have no swelling and no bruising that i'm ware of. It hurts at the same area when i walk on the inside of my foot, but when i walk on the outside it doesn't hurt as much.

I have my sport exam in two days and a very important badminton competition in two weeks.
Does anyone know what this could be and what would be the fastest way of recovering, knowing that i cannot see my doctor until after my sport exam.

Rest it, ice it and stretch your calf muscles lots! There is not a lot else you can do in such a short period of time and without seeing your doctor.
