    Unhappy Ankle Injury (Tight Calf).

    Hurt my ankle playing football/soccer 15 weeks ago. Had a "Severe Ankle Ligament Sprain" and a fracture, it seems to be getting a bit better now but the bottom of my calf and down by my heel is really tight and I can't seem to get rid of it any advice would be great (Should I be running, cycling & also Soccer training on it etc) and how do I get rid of it!?

    Hi,

    A couple of good, deep sports massages and regular stretching should help you out. Its common for the calf to tighten up following such an injury.

    hey
    for the tight tendon from your heel to the calf muscle ;
    you can try stretch it by standing on a step, get your balance and make sure your safe not to fall on anything if losing balance. with your heels over the edge of the step raise up to your tip toes and lower right down as near to floor as you can get. hold this stretch and do not bounce on it. make sure the movement is very slow and controlled and both ankles are raising together and equally, use mirror if needed. This is eccentric streching of the achilles tendon, when lowering!
