Hi all, have been visiting this board for a while now but this is my first post.

In early April I messed up my ankle badly while playing basketball.

I tore my ATFL, CFL, AITFL & deltoid ligament. My achilles tendon was damaged, and I developed posterior tibial tendonitis & something to do with a syndesmosis injury.

I had physio for a while but it just caused too much pain.

My orthopaedic surgeon said theres not much he can do. Just gave me a cortesone injection that didnt make a difference.

Anyway, 6 months post injury and my ankle is still twice the size of the other one. The swelling goes to half-way up my leg. In the hot weather it swells more.

I've been trying to get back into exercise, but the ankle just feels like a swollen rubber band. I can't run. Can't jump. The pain isn't too bad at all anymore, the ankle just cant physically do anything.

Sport was a huge part of my life and I really want to get back into it.

Is it common to still be unable to run and jump 6 months after this?

Any advice on what I can do to get better?
