    Default Calf Contusion

What might be an indication of when a calf contusion does not completely heal? The contusion was from impact to the tibia against another object. It has been years since the injury resulted. But it seems there is still a tenderness in the upper calf area. I use to run regularly but found this results in a dull ache that lasts for days. So I do not run any more.
I had an MRI years ago and was told I have a slight tear of the meniscus? Any comments will be very helpfull.

    Hi
Often after a contusion, especially if it did not receive thorough treatment, there is a tender, tight area left. The range of motion into dorsiflexion of the ankle (lifting the foot up) may also be restricted which can affect your walking/running gait and could cause further injuries.
I would suggest some sports massage and thorough stretching to release scar tissue and realign the fibres of the muscle.

I see you are suggesting massage therapy. Will a therapist know if this type of treatment will not be helpful? You see I think the injury is not exactly muscular.
Also if you press against the sole of your foot which causes your knee joint to pop is this an indication of something? I think this is a type of manipulation to check for an injury?
