    Unhappy Calf injury playing football

Last Wednesday I played football (6 a side on Astro), as I do twice a week. Quite early on in the game I sufferred a tightening of the calf, like a localised cramp, which I found I couldn't 'run off'. It stiffenned up, I used Biofreeze that evening before going to bed. Following morning I was tight with difficulty walking, but it eased through the day with the 'sore area' shrinking to the inner calf area.
No further symptoms felt since Monday.......Until last night when during a warm up/kick about, I thought I had just been hit on the same calf muscle with a golf ball, accompanied by an almost metallic sounding 'ping'. I hobbled off the pitch and couldn't really walk on it at all. Managed to drive home, used Biofreeze again before bed. It's still bad this morning but not quite as bad, I can hobble a bit better. What's really strange is that if I hobble on my tip toes it relieves the pain.
Will Rest, ice, etc suffice or do I need help...?

    Default snaped tendon

    ouch!

    sounds like a torn muscle.

i would suggest getting it check by the orthopaedic surgeon quick dude. until then, reduce your activity level especially using the legs.

    good luck.
