    Default calf pain

I need some advice...during a usual run (maybe a bit faster than usual), I had sudden pain in my lower leg at the lower edge of the calf muscle on the inside of my leg. At first I thought it was just tight, so I stopped to stretch. I started to run again and the pain started up immediately. I walked for a bit which seemed to help.

After taking a few days off, I went out for a slow run and after about 1 mile the pain returned and by the time I returned home the entire inside of my calf hurt and became somewhat swollen.

It has now been almost 3 weeks since the original injury and my calf is still a bit sore. Any suggestions? Should I run on it? The pain is not horrible now, but I'm afraid of injuring it further.

    Ok,

I think you should both visit a sports therapist. They can check out what is really happening.

It may be caused by biomechanical issures such as overpronation

    or chronically tight muscles etc.

You will probably benefit from some good deep sports massage and getting your running shoes checked. Regular stretching (3 times a day!) too!
