Default Calf pain after cramps during a football match

    Hi guys
During a football match I got cramp in my calf, its was the first tim ei have ever had cramp before, my calf was sore for about a week after.
However what i am finding is that the calf seems easily agitated, and is still sore about a month after, if i do any light jogging its not to bad but any fast sprints etc really cause some pain, i am streching it out but whilst this helps initally is doesn't seem to sort it long term, i am wondering if there is anything i can do to cure it, I agrivated it last tuesday, and rested all week and tried jogging yesterday and its now really sore again

    kind regards
    Gra

Make sure you are hydrating effectively. Drink plenty of water before, during, and after practice. Most cramps are related to dehydration.

    Hi
Yes muscle cramps are thought to be linked to dehydration, and an associated lack of sodium and potassium in the body: http://www.sportsinjuryclinic.net/cybertherapist/back/backlowerleg/calfcramp.htm

Make sure you drink lots, stretch regularly and get some sports massage to help loosen the muscles.
