    Default Healing foods and supplements

I tore my calf muscle (soleus) 7 days ago playing volleyball and started sports rehab PT Friday so I'm getting the medical attention and rehab that I need, so I'm doing well in that regard.

My question is on nutrition-are there specific foods that I should be eating more of while healing from a muscle-related injury? Any supplements that are *actually proven* to help your body recover from an injury, especially someone prone to muscle-related injuries? (This injury is by far my most severe, but I am unfortunately prone to pulling muscles) I am a fairly health-conscious person, so I try and regularly eat a well-balanced diet but want to be even more conscientious while healing.

Thanks in advanced for any advice

    Hi

I'm not a nutrition expert, but to my knowledge there aren't any supplements specifically designed or proven to improve healing.
My personal opinion is that if you eat a healthy, well balanced diet, there is no need for supplementation.
