Hurt my ankle

I missed my step on a curb yesterday. I felt my ankle give way and my friend had to help me up and drive me home. My ankle is not really swollen but I can't put any weight on it without alot of pain. My husband is practicing RICE, but my ankle doesnt seem to be responding. I don't want to go behind his back and see a Dr. but I really need some good information like asap
