    Unhappy Lateral lower leg pain

    Hi,

I have been experiencing pain on the lateral side of my lower leg, I first noticed this a couple of months ago and it is occuring two to three times a week. The pain comes on when I am sitting down at my desk and this is the only thing that ever causes the pain however it will then take the rest of the day to go away. I sit with my hips at roughly 90 degress and knees at about 45 degrees and as I work at the desk am sitting in this position for most of the day, however it does not occur everyday although the frequency has increased over the last couple of months.

I also sometimes get pain in my thigh and this seems to be related.

Could you give me some advice on what might be causing the pain and how I can prevent it occuring.

If you need anymore information I will try and provide it

    Thankyou

    Hiya

I think the two are definately related. Where in the thigh is the pain? Back or front?

My first instinct is sciatic pain, as this can be irritated by continued sitting.

Do you ever get any back pain?

If not, try this stretch at least twice a day: http://www.sportsinjuryclinic.net/cybertherapist/stretching/piriformis_stretch.php

This stretches the piriformis muscle, which is often the cause of sciatic symptoms in cases aggravating by sitting and without history of back pain.
