    Default PAIN in the CALF!

Playing a little touch football before the big game on Sunday. Seemed to have twisted ankle SOMEHOW. At first the pain was little, but as night went on it became increasingly painful and started going up back of the calf. No noticable bruising in sight. Pain is at the back of the ankle about mid way up back of calf. Very tender to the touch to the point where taking a shower and water hitting it was painful. Currently elevating, sports muscle creams and Tylenol is the remedy. It has been two days with little relief in sight. Walking on it is PAINFUL.

    What's wrong with it???

Do you remember twisting your ankle? Chances are that there would be swelling and bruising if there was a specific incident. The leaves something like Achilles tendonopathy. Which makes some sense given the location of your pain complaints. You should see a physical therapist to assess the injury and to start stretches, and an eccentric exercise program. Hope this helps.
