    Hi

I don't know what you have tried already, but these are the usual treatment methods:

    Rest, ice and anti-inflammatories initially
Followed by stretching of the calf muscles and achilles tendon (once pain free)
Use of a heel raise temporarily
Check shoes do not rub and provide adequate support
    Check foot biomechanics for overpronation/oversupination
    Reduce wear of high heels

What scan did you have? (i.e. MRI?) Was it checked to make sure that there isn't a bony prominence at the back of the heel causing the problem?

    Default retro calcaneal bursa problem

    Hi
prevously i had achilles tendonitus , This is now settled down , But i believe all the eccentric excerises working on the rehab of achiles injury have caused this bursa problem
I have tried all of all the methods You have descibed
i still wear leel lift and cups before i decided to go down the road of injection , This is now 1 year on ,WITH NO EXCERISE
I Have been told my foot position re bio mechanics is ok

I got an ultrasound scan , as i believe i still had achilles injury but scan showed tendon is fine but enlarged bursa causing the problem at back on insertion with ongoing discomfort ,
I was told injection may work with 80% chance of fixing the issue , if not another injection in 3 months time

would the ultrasound scan pick up bony presence

    Hi
To my knowledge, ultrasound is used mainly for tendons, ligaments and muscles. I am not sure that it shows bony abnormalities, however this is definitely not my area of expertise!
All I can advise is to ask your Doctor on your next appointment and if they don't, push for an x-ray.
    Good luck!
