    Default Shin Splints

Hi, Iv had shin splints for a year now and have been to a podiatrist many times, I have been given insoles but not the customed shape ones only standard insoles that cost 40 pounds. I have fallen arches and the insoles are not really helping. My shins are getting worse and worse and they are now sore in certain parts of my shin instead of it being the whole shin, does this mean it could be a stress fracture? All the pain is on the inside part of the shin and about 5 inches up from my ankle, I am only 17 years old so could it be linked to growing? thanks

Im 19 and i have exactly the same problem, ive also bought some £40 insoles and recently some nike compression socks (in the progress of trying them) i know i have shin splint's but am not sure to what the pain is in the bottom of my legs like you said "5 inches up from my ankle" thats the same with my pain ... when i run on it it feels heavy yet weak like i cant run properly ..
Also in that area it feel's like there is too much pressure and my legs feel like they are going to explode or something!

So like you have asked could this be a stress fracture?
