I rolled my ankle about 7 weeks ago while doing tennis drills. I stepped on my foot and rolled the right ankle. There was a popping sound. I went down but after the initial shock wore off, I was able to get up and put full weight on my ankle. We looked down and it had blown up like a balloon. I did the R.I.C.E. thing. My entire foot, all the way to the toes was bruised. The weird thing was it never hurt. I just taped it and kept going. Had an x-ray and no break. Went to PT and they basically felt it might be a high ankle sprain and wante me to start doing strength exercises without any sleeve or tape. Wear sleeve when doing cardio or walking and a splint with tennis.

Now my ankle does get sore when I do the strength training. Just an ache. The splint is too stiff and I can't move in tennis, but I could move easily with it just taped and a sleeve. The problem is the swelling on the outside right on the ankle bone has not gone down. It fluctuates from huge to just swollen. Any ideas?
