Default Tendon/Ligament Tenderness near interior malleolus

    Hi,

I've recently been having some paing and tenderness between the interior bump (malleolus) and the back of my heel. I can push my thumb into the softer space between those two areas and aggravate the tenderness. It feels like there is some kind of muscle attachment point, or tendon/ligament thing there. I attached an internet photo with a circle around the area that is aggravated.

Maybe I'm being overly cautions, as this is a relatively recent development, but I am concerned - my foot is prone to pronation and I tend to walk with a very flat foot. I have virtually no arch and I don't have a fibula due to a congenital fibular deficiency. I just want to make sure this doesn't get worse.

Is there anything special I can do for this ankle aggravation other than stretching, ice, and eventually calf-strengthening exercises?

    Thanks

    Hi
    Sounds like Tibialis posterior tendonitis.
    Have a look here:
