    Default walk about 50 yards

i start walking ,and after about 50 yards i get so much pain i cant walk anymore i even used to do stretching excercises before trying to walk down the street ,,my doctor said it was tight archilles ,but i done the stretching excercises but its still hurting ,had this for years and years but its getting worse now. and i noticed while i was in the shower it started hurting so therefore not even walking.
the pain is just above the ankle on the outside of the leg{it feels like someone has tied a piece of string around my leg and are pulling it tight.
any ideas would be welcome , with thanks gary

    Hi Gary,

What have you tried other than stretching? Have you had any other treatments?

Can you give me any more information regarding when it happened, what you were doing, if it just came on gradually etc?

Have you ever had your feet looked at to see if you overpronate or oversupinate? If not this is well worth doing as a simple pair of insoles may be all you need.

    hi heidi,
ive had a doplar and they said it was ok, had the thing where they find a pulse in my feet ,that was ok ,tried stretching my archilles even when im only going to walk 100 yards, tried ankle supports but that makes it worse {just feels really tight on the area}it started when i was about 15 {am 40 now}and had it over the years ,when i was younger it was intermitent but now its all the time ,i had numerous sprains from playing football, but i not played for over 15 years now
