Hello To All. My name is Dave, I am 43yr old Male from eastern PA. I went to see my surgeon yesterday and after a 2 ½ hour visit, got this treatment plan. I am just looking for some advise as for what to expect in terms of recoup time, as I want to get back to work asap. I will first type the medical terms, and then give the basic description of what is going to be done. I have a torn anterior talofibular ligament, and ocd which is going to be repaired by a medial malleolar osteotomy, with decompression of the ocd, and repair with an allograft. All that being said, They are going to cut my leg bone to access my ankle, drill out the ocd lesion, and plug it with a synthetic plug, which will get screwed in, and then repair the torn cartalidge using juvenile stem cells to encourage growth, and then screw the end of my leg bone back together.
Anyone ever have this done? What am I in for? All of the damage was caused by years of my ankle rolling over uncontrolled, and constant punishment of the joint due to an aggressive lifestyle. I appreciate any comments, my surgery is scheduled for January 5th, 2011. Thanks again, Dave
