Hi everyone, I've very often used this site, but decided it was about time I asked my own question, rather than hoping someone else would, so here goes - I have had two years of major knee problems. I have had three operations (one absolutely botched!!!!) Tons of physio (some also botched!!) & am about to embark on a fourth operation. My (new) surgeon thinks he had got to the bottom of the problem at last!! However my surgeon has given me a choice - I can have a microfracture, or ACI (the growing & implanting cartilage - this is quite new methinks??). I do prefer the sound of the ACI (as it's REAL cartilage, rather than scar tissue), but the microfracture is only one procedure. Has anyone had any experience of either of these surgeries?? Thanks.
