Default Advise needed after injuring knee

3 days ago I tripped over my cat and landed with my knee on the corner of the door frame, which has a thin metal bar running across it.

Initially I was in a lot of pain as you'd expect and I put ice on it and rested for a bit. The last 2 days have been uncomfortable but bareable. I taken paracetamol and iboprufen for the pain.

Last night the pain got a lot more intense and bruising and swelling started to appear on the outside of my knee just around the kneecap.

I also have pins and needles running down my shinbone into my foot. There is some grinding noise on my kneecap when I move and I can't straighten the leg as it is too painful.

Keeping it at a slightly bend position is about the only way I can feel a bit comfortable.

Part from kicking the cat (joking!) what should I do?

    Hi

I think you should visit your Doctor is its possible. Its worth it just to be on the safe side, especially when there is pins and needles as these often indicate nerve involvement. This is probably only due to the bruising or swelling redicing the space for it to pass through and will fade as the swelling does. But still worth a check.
