Unhappy Burning Pain at the Tibial Tubercle

I have had my ACL replaced and a few knee surgeries after that. I am now having buring pain right below my knee at the tibial tubercle. Because I was having pain in the shin a year and a half after surgery, my orthopedic removed that screw. Now it's burning and no one can seem to tell me what's going on with it. I am 32 years old so I don't even know if Osgood Schlater's could be the cause because I am older.

Any input would be greatly appreciated!!

    Thanks!

    Hi
Osgood schlatters is rare in adults, although does occasionally occur. The other thing to look at is patella tendinopathy. This is pain caused by degeneration of the patella tendon. Did you have a patella tendon graft? This can be a common complication following ACL recon using a patella tendon graft.
Have a look here for more info:

When I had my ACL done they used my hamstring tendon. Could patellar tendionpathy still be the problem?

Yes it could be. a patella tendon graft just makes it more likely.
Do any of the other symptoms match up with what you are experiencing?
What sports or activities are you involved in?

The only symptoms that I have is pain in the knee and then the burning at the tibial tuberacle. I play softball and floor hockey. That's it for now. As the weather gets warmer I will be playing on three softball teams. I really want this to get better before the season starts.

Try visiting a sports therapist/physical therapist etc. They may do some ultrasound and massage and suggest some exercises for you.
