I suffered a blow to the left quad 10 days ago playing ice hockey which caused a dead leg. For the first 4-5 days was improving everyday but then I started getting slight pains at the top of my knee.
When I got home 5 nights ago the knee pains started to turn severe and since has gotten worse and has now spread right around my knee cap. If I walk about it seems ok(but still not good) but as soon as I stop, sit down or rest in any way it immediately gets extremely painful again especially at night, I'm waking up in pain every hour or so and can barely walk on it.
I tried using R.I.C.E but it was just getting worse and worse so I went to the doctor and he didn't seem to have a clue what it was, even though he tried his best to sound like he did, he was shaking and stuttering at every question I asked. He ended up saying that it must be blood flowing down from the dead leg that's causing the pain in my knee and just said to keep resting it.
I'm not quite sure what to do now because I keep getting told by my sister who us a nurse to go to the hospital but I don't want to sit there for 3+ hours waiting for some1 to tell me just to rest it.
Does anyone have any idea what it could be and what I can do to sort it?
