Unhappy dead leg to shooting knee pain

    hi guys

6 days ago i got a pretty bad dead legplaying football. The guys knee came in from my left side to the lower thigh.

It felt pretty bad, but ive had dead legs before and after days or a week they seem to heal naturally (with RICE).

However the last two/three days it seems to have got worse, actually spreading down to the left side of knee.

when i straighten my leg and tense my quad i get like an intense shooting pain in my knee, down left side and it last for a good 30/45 seconds afte ri stop moving OR just standing up after sitting down for a few mins.OR just bending my knee after having leg straight. This is causinga lot of pain at knight when i sleep as any movemnt can cause me to wake.

Im guessing i actually may have dameaged ligament/tendon?

looking straight on at at the left leg the pain is mainy arouns 1-3o'clock from patella.

Should i just rest this, or go see doc/phsio - i dont want to waste their time!? but i dont want it getting worse!

MAybe this is just the bleeding from the thigh injury spreading down to the knee causing the pain?

    hopefully no calcification or anything

    Hi
Can you feel a hard lump in the area? Did you use heat or masage on it at all? If the answer to both of these is no then it is very unlikely that there is any calcification.
I would definately say to visit a physio, its not wasting their time at all!
Try to rest it from anything too physical, but keep it moving and keep stretching it.
IN a few more days if you are sure that the bleeding has stopped then some massage may help to loosen it.
As for damage to other structures, this is possible, but you would need an assessment from a physio or similar to determine that.

I have these exact same symtoms from a dead leg I sustained in football ten days ago. I am thinking of going to the doctor, how long did it take for your injury to recover? What did you do to aid recovery?
    thanks
