Default Hard knock on the back of the knee

Hi hope someone out there can give me some advice.

What would I have damaged if I got hit on the back of the knee with a base ball bat?
This is a hyperthetical question as I need to write an essay on it. Would I have damaged the posterior cruciate ligament?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi

I think you would actually be more likely to damage the ACL from that action. As the ACL limits forwards motion of the Tibia. If you hit the back of the knee, this will push the Tibia forwards, possibly tearing the ligament.

The PCL prevents backwards movement of the Tibia and is more likely injured from a direct blow to the front of the knee.
