Help with knee pain
Hi
I'm a regular runner up to 30 miles per week and have ran a few marathons. Recently started training for my next marathon. During a 14 mile run after about 10 miles i got a sharp pain on the outside of my right knee. The pain went away when i slowed down, enough to get me home. The following day it was sore going down stairs but could walk with no problem. I bought a new pair trainers and had a few days rest then went for a 5 mile run and after 3 mile the pain was back. I rested for another 7 days and felt good, went for a 3 mile run and just finishing i could feel it coming on.
I should have said a over pronate and buy shoes to suit this, the shoes i was wearing during my 14 mile run were old and should have been replaced. I just kept putting it off.
I can walk up hills and down hills, up stairs and down stairs with no pain, it actually feels normal and good. I'm still not running.
Could this be runners knee (ITBS)? and will I be able to run again.
