Default How do I get rid of knee pain after running?

I just did about 14 laps around the track today, but when I got home, my knee started hurting really bad. The pain is on the right knee, on the inner-side of the knee. What should I do right now to ease the pain, and what can I do in the future to prevent this pain? I like running, but my knees say otherwise!

Sounds like a problem with your patella mal-tracking - moving excessively, usually to the outside of the joint.
This is a common problem in runners and especially females due to out wider hips.
The problem can be caused by a number of factors, usually muscle imbalances around the knee and hip, sometimes biomechnics and overpronation etc.
You should visit someone who can assess this and give you a rehab programme to stretch/strengthen the right muscle groups.
