    Default Hyperextended Knee Injury

About 4 weeks ago now I suffered a injury in which I hyperextended my left knee. I was in instant pain, my whole knee swelled up and Had pain on the inside, outside and front of my knee. The swelling has since gone down, however I have quite a build up of fluid just to left (outside) of my kneecap. I also have pain when twisting the inside of my knee most probably something to do with my mcl as I partially torn this in January and also pain on the outside of my which feels like a sharp pain. I also have a lot of pain when bending down to pick something up my whole knee is in agony when straightening my left leg.

I was hoping you could maybe give me some idea as to what kind of injury i could have, how long I may be out for and any tips on how to stop my knee hyperextending?

    Thanks

    Kane

    Hi

Have you seen anyone about this? If it is still causing you this much pain 4 plus weeks after injury then I definately recommend you visit at least your Doctor.
Hyperextension injuries can cause considerable damage, especially if there is also an element of twisting. Common injuries include acl tears:

    or PCL tears:
