Default info RE: post acl-reconstruction injury

    hello everyone,

my name is nick, i'm 25, and i'm a wrestler and a judoka. eleven months ago i had acl reconstruction and a meniscectomy. i returned to activity six months ago and have not had any problems until two weeks ago. i was sparring with someone and posted out on my right (repaired) leg and made a small pivot carrying my opponents weight. my knee buckled and i felt a shifting. there was no pain and immediate swelling but it just felt odd.

the knee swelled gradually over the next couple days and went down rather quickly. i never lost range of movement besides extension of the leg past 180 degrees and i never limped, but i have a persistent soreness on the lower lateral side of the knee and a general feeling of weakness. i can still pivot.

what does everyone think? i'm hoping i didn't retear the cadaver graft; it's nowhere near the trauma i experienced the first time i tore my acl but i heard that cadaver tear can be painless. i have an appointment with my surgeon next week but i'm just beside myself and frustrated.

    thanks everyone.

    Hi
Yes I think you're right that a tear of a cadaver tendon would not cause you significant pain.
Its so difficult to give you any idea without worrying you. The best thing to do is rest as much as you can and wait for your Doctor appointment
