Thread: Knee injury

    Default Knee injury

I was goofing off playing Frisbee and landed in a squatting position. It kind of hurt, and the next day I had a slight limp. That was about 2 months ago, and now it's unnoticeable 99% of the time. However, when I try to squat or pull my heel close to my buttocks, the back of my knee starts to hurt about 4 or 5 inches from my butt. It doesn't affect my day-to-day activities, but I want to start working out. I'm afraid to do squats as I don't want to make this worse. It seems like it's healing so slowly. I would've thought after 6 weeks, it would've healed.

    Hi
So the pain in the back of your knee on bending your knee fully could be caused by a number of injuries. It is a common symptom of cartilage injuries: http://www.sportsinjuryclinic.net/cybertherapist/front/knee/medialmeniscus.htm
but also many other injuries such as popliteus injury, ligament injury or hamstring tendon injury.
The best thing to do is to get it checked out by a sports injury professional.
It will probably just require some simple treatment and a rehab programme.
