Default Knee injury (directly above knee cap)

    Hi,

I have had 3 operations on my knee in recent years to tidy up loose cartilige etc.

However, about 4 months ago, my knee was injured again, but this time the pain is on the tendon or muscle which you can feel directly above the knee cap.

It is not sore all the time, but can become unbearable if I try to do exercise. I used to rely on cycling as I means to keep fit, but I cannot even do this anymore as it feels like something is about to snap at times - and the pain is very bad.

I am unable to completely straighten my leg at the knee joint as this is also very painful in the same area.

    Does anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks

    Hi,

Have a look at this to see if the symptoms match:

My first advise would be continue to rest it, ice after walking or anything which hurts it. Stretch the quads three times a day and get some sports massage to the quads as well.

Doing all of this in combination should ease it. Once you can do all of this start strengthening, very gently and painfree.
