    Unhappy knee injury; helpp!

okay, so i play soccer for my high school..

this march, i injured my knee(i'm not sure exactly what happened to hurt it), i finished the game but had swelling afterwards and i couldn't walk on it once i got home. i had pain all around the back and outside of my knee, and tenderness all around my kneecap.

the athletic trainer said it was probably a knee (pcl) sprain, and i did rehab everyday after school until the season ended (around early may)

lately, i havent been doing much of anything(rehab-wise), but if my knee hurts especially bad that day, i'll do my excercises. :\

club(summer) soccer season is starting soon though, and so i did some conditioning today, and my knee hurts like crazyy right now, and even more so after i put ice on it.

should i be worried about the fact that i still have pain 3 months later?
or the fact that it hurts more after ice?

If it was a sprain, it should have healed by now. I would recommend getting it checked out again & possibly have an MRI on it. It could just be inflammation which has flared up again, if thats the case & there is no structural damage to the knee it should clear up in about 3-4 weeks providing it has been rested appropriately.

It may also be worthwhile having your Quads checked out because if there is a muscle weakness it could cause the knee to track incorrectly causing pain.
