    Default Knee issue

Trying to see if any one knows what this could be before I escalate it further.

have a knee problem, inner side of left knee will start to hurt sometimes after squatting down and coming back up. i can walk on it (hurts) but cant really pivot off of it. When it starts to hurt cant really extend leg all the way and after it starts hurting if i sit down and my knee is around a 90 degree position when i get back up it seems like the pain was never there

if i pivot off it wrong or side step pushing off from it or if i go to a knee and get back up or squat down and get back up. all those could start the pain

the only thing that is really getting me is the fact that if i sit down for like 3 or 5 mins the pain is completely gone almost like it realigns something

I have been having issues with this knee off and on for about 7 years or so. First occurrence was when i was a Junior in high school, was doing spring training for football and guessing i landed wrong while doing jumping/hurdling drills cause my knee started to hurt. Went to trainer and she said the muscle in my knee was growing and i was like BS so i just iced it and continued on. few weeks later i was lifting weights and doing squats and when i was going down my knee popped and i basically fell. I stood up and tried to pick up a 35 lb weight and really couldnt pick it up cause my knee couldnt take the extra weight.

Went back to trainer but saw other one and he claimed I may have a stretched ligament so i iced it and did some minor rehab stuff for it. Had no real issue with the knee for 5 years till this one night i was doing lazer tag and was standing on a slope with my left leg basically behind me on the lower part of the slope. I was standing there for like a minute or so and all of sudden my left knee gives out, but what it did was different. I could basically feel it click like 4 times before i ended up on the ground. At first i thought my knee cap had shifted or somthing cause i immediately grabbed for it only to find it where it should be. i got up and could barely stand on it.

Went to an urgent care place the next day and got an x-ray with no real results. the doctor did claim that the joint where my femur meets the tibia seemed to be miss aligned a little as compared to my other knee. He claimed i should prolly go to an orthopedic to get an MRI if the pain persists. The pain lasted for like a month or so and went away, but if i had bent down wrong or pivoted wrong it would start to hurt again.

I dont think its swollen, but if it is its real minor. When i hurt it the first time it swelled up and could put any pressure whats so ever on the knee like kneeling on it or even crawling into bed it would hurt.

sorry for long post figured i'd knock out some questions u would ask, but ur advice would be much appreciated.

    Hi
Its obvious that something happened in your knee all that time ago which keeps flaring up. Whether the initial injury has caused a misalignment or muscle imbalance type problem is hard to know but this would be my guess.
I think to know for certain you should visit a sports injury professioanl to get an assessment and treatment of the injury. It may just need a specific strengthening program. A knee support with a patella buttress may also help.
