    Exclamation knee pain

I had knee surgery about 17 years ago, torn ACL,MCL,and LCL. About the last the year or so, I had alot of problems with it. It constantly pops and swells up. Then I can barely walk for a couple of days. I put the cremes on it, but it doesn't seem to do any good. I take 3 glocosimine chondritin pills a day, but to no avail. The pills cost me about $45.00 a month. If anyone knows anything else I can do please let me know. I also wrap it with ace bandages and ice. thank you for any help.

    Hi porkchop74,

Given the problems you are having with your knee I would suggest you get it checked out either by your original surgeon or by another orthopaedic surgeon.

It might be that you're experiencing problems related to the original work that was done, or sustained another injury to an already weakened knee joint.

Either way, I would strongly suggest you get a medical opinion on what is causing these flareups you are experiencing.

Please let us know how you get on!
