    Smile knee pain playing football

Hi, this is the first time im posting. Thort id give u a bit of background about my injuries. I play football (soccer) 3 times a week. 5 a side on astro turf pitches. I have previously sprained my ankle a few times and have managed to build up strength and flexibility on this area not be able to withstand any more injuries in that area. However i continue to wear supports.

To my recent injury, on my left knee, below the knee cap, where the bone sticks out, after football, it does feel sore and a lil burning sensation. The bone on this leg does stick out quite a bit compared to my right leg. This pain has been going on for 6 months or so, its bearable.

There isn't any swelling, just the area around the bone which sticks out is causing pain. If i touch the area, there is pain. This settles down when there is no physical activity.

i do feel a bit walking up and down stairs.

any support, advice, guidance would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi

How old are you? The reason I ask is that is sounds like osgood schlatters disease. This tends to be most prevalent in teenagers. I think it can occaisionally occur in older people.
Otherwise it could be patella tendinopathy.

i have just read up on osgood schlatters disease. It does seem very similar and there is a noticelbe boney part below my knee cap that gets imflammed after exercise.
