    Default Knee Pain please help!!

    Hello,

Every time I squat, lunge, walk up the stairs, or run for a long period of time, I have an intense pain in both of my knees. Symptoms first started showing in December of last year, I didn't really think too much of it because I thought time would just take care of it, but it seems the more I am inactive, the more intense the pain is. I've tried icing, NSAIDS, IT band stretching, and strengthening my hips, and none seem to prevail.

When the pain started showing, it was after a very intense basketball game. I didn't fall or anything traumatic of some sort, it just appeared the next day, and since then, I can barely jump. Again, if I don't run for say a week or so, and I take a jog, the pain will be very intense and it will stay for the rest of the day.

If I am missing something feel free to ask, and a big thanks for ANY help at all!

    Hi

It does seem like a case of patellofemoral pain syndrome, which from what you have said about the treatments you have tried, I think you may agree.

Have a look here for any more ideas:

Have you tried the taping technique on these pages for at least temporary relief whilst you work on correcting the other problems? Other things to tahink about include overpronation (rolling of the feet and flattening of the arch) and weakness of the medial thigh muscles.

I have tried using knee braces, I am not sure if that acts the same as patella taping. Should I try buying the tape?
