Default knee pain on rising from a squat

hi everyone, my first posting.
great website and forum, I plan to link to you from my own site!
Minor knee problem, doesnt correspond quite with any knee injury listing.
Sudden pain only on rising from quite a deep squat - I can do squats in aerobics or with weights, no problem. Pain inside left knee, around groove between leg and patella. Sensation as if something out of place: when it moves, pain goes.
It also dislikes twisting - which of course, I try not to do!
Slight ache above left knee, lowest part of quadriceps.

I am Female 52, weight overweight but stable, sedentary job but 4 x fitness sessions per week: 2 x KBox aerobics, 1 x yoga, 1 x weights. Walk frequently.
No history of knee injury. No joint problems otherwise.

Hi

I suspect that it is do to with your patella. Possibly mal-tracking, maybe some cartilage damage. Its difficult to establish the source of pain even on examination with this kind of injury. What you should be looking for is the causes and how to correct them. For example, weak outer hip muscles, tight IT band, tight hamstrings etc.
