    Hi
What has the physio done? Have they given you any exercises or treatment?
Will have to take their word for it being a ligament as they have been able to assess it properly.
Keep the knee moving and do stretching/flexibility exercises. Once pain free start strengthening.
Strapping may be helpful once you return to sport.

    Unhappy stiff knee

hi,thanks for reply.all physio really done is to stretch the knee in all directions,ie,pulling foot out whilst pushing knee in,and the opposite.what could you recommend as can now kneel on it but dont have full flexibility, still pain at top of calf.also had massage to the area

If you don't have full movement at the knee then you should definately have been given some exercises to try to regain this. Just knee extension and flexion exercises. Ask your physio next time you go in.
