    Cool knee weakness

    Hey guys,

I've just got back from a 2 month holiday, and may have started working out a little too intensely. I managed to pull a muscle in my knee while in circuit training 2 weeks ago doing weighted jumping lunges, so kept off it for a few days. However, while it was fine when I restarted a few days later, in the last few days, it's started just feeling weak. There is very little pain, but there is just a strange weak feeling.

It's weird, because it's not completely stopping me from doing activities. For instance, today I managed to run 10km with no pain whatsoever, but when I was back and washed, it began to feel weak again.

I want to begin training again (badminton, squash, kickboxing), but I don't want to injure myself in the process. It's annoying, because I want to get back to a decent level of fitness instead of just lazing around all day. I'd really appreciate it if someone could give me some advice, or a suitable time of rest. All the information I can find on the internet seems to relate to injuries far more serious than my own.

    Thanks

    Hi
If it feels weak and is painfree, I would focus on trying to strengthen the quads, hamstring, groin and calf muscles. All of the muscles surrounding the knee.
Start gently and stop if it seems to aggravate it but I would definately suggest this is the way to go.
Using a resistance band would be a good place to start.
