    Default leg crossing

    Hi,

Recently I've found that if I cross my legs for any length of time at all. The leg underneath starts to
hurt like hell. And it hurts even worse when I go to straighten that leg. I went to the cinema the
other day and the same thing happened except I noticed when I went to straighten the leg underneath
I felt my kneecap actually change position. The pain was unreal. I got a tattoo about a year ago and that
was incredibly painful but when my kneecap moved the pain was comparable. I now find that
I can't cross my legs for any amount of time at all and am rather frustrated.
Any suggestions on how to stop the pain (apart from not crossing my legs.)

    Regards,
    berginci

The altered position of your knee is causing your knee cap to at best mal-track, at work sublux or even dislocate.
First thing to do....STOP sitting with your knees crossed! It is bad for the knees and also the hips and pelvis.
You should see an injury therapist to see how much of a problem there is and they will probably give you exercises to strengthen the muscles which stabilise the knee cap.
