    Default Locked Knee

3 months ago I had a skiing acceident and pulled away my ACl with a chunk of bone attached. I had an op to screw the bone back in place and had 6 weeks in Cast. 5 weeks ago the cast was removed but very little movement. Still 5 weeks on and no more movement. Consultant said that I should have MUA? What can I do to stretch the scar tissue myself? Just started Physio 5 days a week. Hope someone can give me some advise. Not driving is really getting me down.

    Hi

What do you mean by MUA?

I think it is now quite unusual to have the leg in a cast for 6 weeks following knee surgery. Surgeons now seem to promote movement as soon as possible to prevent stiffness.

Keep working at the physio, they know what they are doing and should be able to get your leg back moving fully quite quickly.

MUA. Is manipulation under anaesetic. They will move my knee tearing the scar tissue to get my movement back. I will have that next Thursday. Physio managed to get another 5 degrees today. Knee is still really stiff and ankle is sore and swollen. Physio said it was that stiff today he could hang off it and it still won't move.
