HELLO PEOPLE!
I hope someone has an idea on what this is! I am a 50 yr old X-Gymnast and athlete. I have stayed in pretty good shape over the years and in the last few months started running a mile to a sledding hill and up and down like 15-20 times! Its been hard but awesome! On the way up I go up about 20 steps that are a wide stride for me. On the way down I just walk down the hill part where you sled. This doesn't hurt my knees, but slowly over a couple months I developed this painful to the touch lump just below my knee cap (appears like Osgood slaughter). It feels like I got hit with a hammer right there and I can no longer sit on my knees or kneel. I ice it and have been doing less of the hill, but it is still there. This week I have stopped the hill
completely and it seems improved. I can run on flat ground with just a little pain. WHAT IS THIS? Seems odd to me. My husband and I and 3 kids have all been active in sports and have has many sports related injuries, fractures and surgeries, so we feel pretty knowledgable about stuff, but not this. Osgood S is only for kids still growing we thought. Am I wrong? Thanks for any advice.
