    Default microfacture surgery

due to chondral lesions (femur medial) its been just under 5 weeks and the Orthopod gives me the green light to lose the brace and the crutch but still very careful with loading the leg. And it will be another 2 weeks before I am due to go to the physio for rehab. In the meantime what else can I do to start the rehab process other than ride the recumberent bike in the gym. Also is there anything else I can do to aid the growth of fibro cartilage other than be very careful with the knee?

    Thanks

I had micro-fracture surgery in January. I was only supposed to have your traditional scope but when they went in they found the micro fracture. I was on crutches for 6 weeks (on 2 and then 1 for a week after that). I started physical therapy the day after surgery. I was given a CPM machine that bends the knee to a certain degree and then straightens it back to O*. I am 3 months out of surgery and I am still not back to my regular activities. It does take time but the key is to keep it moving. If you are sitting in a chair or lying on a bed, do knee bends. That will help. But keep it moving so it doesn't get stiff. Hope this is helpful information.
    Thanks!
