    Default Outer knee pain

To contextualize this situation....I'm out of shape. However, I usually have no problem just jumping in to a pick up game of soccer and roughing it up.

Last night at intramurals, I played hard for the first half of the game but then felt the outside of my knee stiffening up and turning painful. Needless to say I wasn't running very fast but since last night the pain hasn't gone away. I started feeling this exact pain over the summer but its now coming back with a vengeance.

    Description:
It is not anything related to the knee cap or inner knee. It feels like it is coming from the outermost ball-shaped bone. It doesn't hurt to put weight on it but I feel the pressure when I LIFT that leg up to take a step. Could it be a ligament?

    Hi

Could be a ligament, could be the IT band.
