Default Pain at the back of my knee

    Hello!
3.5 weeks ago it started to hurt behind my knee, I don't know when I hurt it, it just started to hurt when I begun to train altough 1 or 2 days before pressure was put on the front of my knee with it fully extended.

    The pain:

    1. Hurts behind my knee when I bend it with slight resistance, altough it only hurts while the knee is bent between 45 and 110 degrees (0 degrees=fully extended)

    2. Hurts kind of inside my knee when its bent 90 degrees and I for example puts the foot on my other thigh when sitting down. In other words hurts when my leg is bent and I bend the tibia to the inside. This is the situation when it hurts most.

    3. The first 2 weeks (approximately) my hamstrings was tight, altough not very much right now (maybe a little bit, hard to tell)

Palpation or for example doing a squat does not hurt.

    My ideas:

    Inflamed hamstrings?
    Popliteus?
    PCL?

    Cheers from Simpmon

    Hi
Popliteus was my first thought when reading your post.
You can read more about it here:

The pain on the second half of flexion, with internal rotation and the association of tight hamstring muscles all suggest this injury.
I think PCL is unlikely, although hyperextension injuries can cause a tear to the PCL. But I think your symptoms would be more marked, i.e. more swelling and instability to report.
