    Default Pain behind the knee

A year or so ago I had some pain on the inside of my right knee when running. If I wore a knee Strap it felt ok and it gradually got better. In January I had some pain and stiffness in the back of my knee. I took a few days off and it got better. Then it flared up again in February and again i took a few days off. I am training for a marathon so I have increased my miles and up hill speed. A few weeks ago my knee started hurting in the back again and got so bad I took 8 days off. I ran two days and it was back hurting again. so I stopped running. The pain is at the back of the knee at the bend. There is no swelling that i can tell. The knee feels best right after I get up. and gets sore the more i use it. If I pull the heel up to my butt I feel more pain just as my heel touched my butt. Also if I straighten my knee all the way out it hurts some but the more times i do it the less it hurts. Also the in side of my knee is slightly sore again. Hope this is enough info but not to much. Any Ideas

    Thanks Ron

Red face Same symptoms and relief

I have similiar symptoms and relief.
My last ortho visit told me my bad knees are causing tendonitis all over. Feels like pulled hamstring, shin splints, stress fractures, bakers sist. All have been ruled out. It is tendonitis. My PT started massage and working my knee. I contiue what she did. I get relief for a few hours. Then I tried the routine twice a day, that gave me relief for longer periods of time. I do a stationary bike for for 1 mintue interavals and a leg press machine for one minute intervals. 1 minute bike, 1 minute leg press. Then I stretch the hamstrings, quads and back immediately afterwards. I also put a heat wrap on the sore areas first thing in morning while eating breakfast. I don't do any pain killers, unless I know I will be abusing my knees.
I will not get knee replacements. Regenerative Sciences is regrowing cartilage using your own stem cells from bone marrow. I hope it gets approved soon.

    Default

It turns out I had a spot on my calf muscle that was stuck together. I massaged it out and my pain went away.
