Default Pain on the inside of my leg below the knee

Hey guys this is my first post
i was wondering if you could give me some anatomy / injury advice. i have been suffering from knee discomfort for some time and have been several places getting them looked at, i am now fully out of cash. I got a great pain in my knee today so had to cancel training. I know from what the physios have told me that my biomechanics are incorrect when performing squats and deadlifts, I have attatched an image with the painful area circled on my right leg. i am also grabbing the muscle i beleiv joins onto this area (although i could be incorrect).

i was performing some biomechanic exercise/stretches today, a lunge into a forearm lean to the floor, at the bottom of this position, with my right leg infront and my left stretched all the way back is when my knee (or just below the knee should i say) feels most vulnerable - it feels as though if i was to straighten that front leg at all it would cause a pain. This has helped me notice that it is worse when my glutes are pushed out like you would when squating. I was thinking maybe its a muscle on the inside of my leg that joins up somewhere close to the glutes and that could be just pulling it.

If this was the case though would i actually feel pain in this situation if it really was just tight. and how would i determine if the muscle was too tight, too weak, or too strong in comparison with the surrounding musculature? I am under the impression that my glutes do not come into play enough at the moment if that helps.

If you get time i would really appreciate your opinion or help in atleast determining which muscle is causing this.

A lot of that actually does sound right!! If my biomechanics were wrong I.e my glutes were not coming into play could this also add to the issue?

Yes glute weakness or delayed firing can be an issue with running injuries, especially at the knee.

Thank you! So what would you recommend to fix this issue? I.e a specific exercise? Thanks

You need to work out exactly what your specific muscle imabalnces etc are. You should probably see a professioanl - sports therapist / physio etc for this.
