Exclamation Pain on Inside of Right Knee

    Hello,
I was wondering if anybody would be able to help me as this has been bugging me for a year now.

When I was playing football just over a year ago, I collided with a another player which I think tore my medial ligament. I couldn't continue playing. Yet there was no massive pain, I could just feel my knee kind of wobbling when ever I tried to kick a ball. and then I couldn't play for quite a long time after that, perhaps 7 months roughly.

I am playing football now, but there is still a problem. I can kick a ball fine (with my laces), but it is when ever I kick the ball with the inside of my foot I can still feel the injury coming back. It has been over a year now and I would have hoped it would have fully healed by now.

I have looked up medial ligament injuries on the web and the worse case scenario says a year to heal. Its been over a year, and it has healed dramatically, but it is just when I pass the ball with the inside of my right foot I can feel the inside of my right knee going again. Will it be like this forever? Will it never be as good as it was before I got injured?

Any Advice would be very very very much appreciated.

    Thanks

    Hi
It does sound like an MCL injury. I don't know if you did nay rehab or anything on it but you haven't mentioned so I'm guessing not. This is what you should be doing - quad and hamstring strengthening exercises to help support the knee and balance exercises with a wobble board to improve your balance and joints sense of positioning to avoid a further injury.
